Since 1650 the house has belonged to Costanza’s family that moved here from
Florence at the time of the Tuscan Grand Duchy, in order to work at the
building of the Arezzo Railway.
The guests stay on the second floor of the house in the four bedrooms
,each one with its own bathroom, restored with their originary structure.
The bedrooms are
furnished with antique family pieces, are simple and maintain the taste of
Tuscan country-houses without any of the characteristics typical of the usual
hotels or relais.
For this reason you won’t find here any tv-set, fridge-bar or air-conditioning…
This is the real Tuscany country-house of ages ago, with that particular
atmosphere that has been lost in the usual tourist facilities…
The
antique living-room is suggestive with its terracotta
tiles and oak beams and is divided into nice corners where to relax; in front of
the fireplace you can sip an excellent Chianti during the winter evenings.
In the living-room breakfasts and dinners are served.
Then, by the old wooden stairs you reach the dovecot (la colombaia) or garret, as
Costanza's grandparents used to call it.
It is a small sitting room
above the roofs, with ogival windows, through which you can enjoy “slices” of Tuscan
landscape, from the Appennini to the Chianti hills. You can really relax there
after a long day spent on outings, having an aperitif and waiting for Patrizia’s
delicacies, or relishing the starry sky before a refreshing sleep!!
There are no words to describe this feeling of being among friends who take you
in with all their heart…
